If You’re Still Worrying, You Have Not Entered His Rest
If you’re still worrying about the situation, you have not yet entered His rest. Worrying will not change anything—but giving thanks and declaring the end will.
Open your mouth and say something.
Prayer is talking—not thinking silently. There is not a single Scripture that supports the idea of “silent prayer” as the standard. Jesus talked when He prayed. He lifted His voice.
“And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, ‘Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.’”
—John 11:41 (NKJV)
We’ve inherited a skewed perception of prayer. Nowhere in the Bible are we told to approach God as beggars. The Word says to come boldly:
“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
—Hebrews 4:16 (NKJV)
Yet we kneel, clasp our hands, close our eyes, and beg. Imagine if your children came to you that way for dinner—what kind of parent would you appear to be? Unlearn that mindset, and do what Jesus said to do: Lift up holy hands!
“I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.”
—1 Timothy 2:8 (NKJV)
He said to believe you already have it before you pray. That means the image must be alive in you—BIG. You meditate on it day and night, letting that picture become clear and unshakable.
“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.”
—Mark 11:24 (NKJV)
“But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.”
—Psalm 1:2 (NKJV)
Once that image is in you, then you make your request known to God—according to His promises. That means you have Scripture to support your petition.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”
—Philippians 4:6 (NKJV)
Then you STAND. Not wavering. Giving thanks.
“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”
—Hebrews 10:23 (NKJV)
Nowhere in the Word does it say to “storm heaven.” Why are you storming heaven? You do that when you believe God doesn’t hear you, or you think there’s power in numbers. But there’s not power in numbers—there is power in faith.
“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
—Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)
You can’t manipulate God into doing something He doesn’t want to do. So what do you do? Get the image of His promise inside of you, present your case with His Word, give thanks, and then STAND.
“Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth…”
—Ephesians 6:14 (NKJV)
Stand therefore. Don’t waver. Don’t beg. Don’t storm. Believe. Declare. Give thanks. And stand.
