New Beginnings

I use social media mainly for my retreats. The third annual retreat is coming in less than 30 days, and I needed to get the word out and communicate with those already coming. God knows this.

A couple of days ago, I reinstalled the Facebook app, hoping my appeal had been approved—but it wasn’t. I decided that was it. I’d download my information and leave it in God’s hands. After a prompt came up saying “Content not found,” I knew something wasn’t right. I went to Safari to try and contact the help desk. I still had 158 days left until permanent deletion. The help desk button didn’t appear, but an appeal button for a page from 2020 did.

I had not seen this before… so I clicked it. I was asked for a selfie and my driver’s license. I uploaded them, and the screen went back to “Content not found.” My heart sank. Was I really being banned for using the word “gun” instead of “pew pew” in a post? Oh well… I believe God.

Around 5:30 p.m., after work, my phone buzzed. I had nine notifications from Facebook! I opened the app, and the 2020 page was restored! It has far fewer than 21k followers, but that’s okay. I will start fresh if need be. I’m just grateful to be back in fellowship with friends around the globe.

So… I guess I’m trying to say… I’m back 🎀
