We live from the inside out. I’m just really learning this truth at this big age… lol. The Bible says, “From the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks,” meaning we say what is in us. The Bible also says God has given us everything pertaining to life and godliness. So we’re not waiting for Him to pour anything into us — we got filled before the foundations of this world.
This is important because the overall consensus is, “I’m just waiting on God.” Most people I meet are waiting and not doing. Well, faith is an action. I know where you are by where you are. You can tell what’s in a person’s heart when they start talking. Remember, ain’t nothing coming out of their mouth that isn’t in their heart. So when I hear foul language, fear, doubt, disbelief, etc., I know that is in their heart in abundance. They’re not just talking. Nobody is EVER just talking.
I had a whole conversation with a young woman who was full of self-pity, self-doubt, and couldn’t stop saying she was cursed. No matter the topic, she laid the blame for her life on everyone but herself. Her weight is because it’s how her family was. Her not getting a raise at work is the curse. Her not having relationships is the devil — and the list goes on. Nothing is or was ever her fault or the result of her mindset.
Well… God doesn’t put your future in anyone else’s hands — not even His. He places choices in front of you and then gives you the answer: “I’ve placed before you life and death, blessings and curses… CHOOSE LIFE.” God is not cruel. He wouldn’t blame you for stuff done by people you’ve never met. We are not in the Old Testament! We have to stop mixing the two covenants. There is a bigger difference in the two than a blank page. Jesus became a curse for us, why do so many wanna be cursed or negate the finished work?
I urged her to take responsibility for her own life. Stop claiming the curse and start pronouncing the Blessing of Abraham over your life. Stop blaming the world, the administration, the job, the man, etc., and start taking responsibility for your own life. All of that is FICTION! There is no “man” holding ANYONE back. We are a sum total of our beliefs, words, decisions, and actions.
If I keep eating garbage, that’s how I will look! Ain’t nobody to blame but me. If I spend every dime I have, I will never accumulate wealth — that ain’t nobody’s fault but my own. Y’all catch my drift. You want a better life? Look within… ain’t nothing out there. You’ve had the power all along — you just didn’t know it.
