You Can’t Have What You Can’t See

I have always known when I was going to buy a new car. It was NEVER a surprise to me. First, I would decide I wanted a new car. Then I would start looking at new models to see what I wanted to buy. After that, I would dive into researching the brand and reading consumer reports. My spare time would become CONSUMED with car shopping. Suddenly, I’d start seeing that car everywhere while driving — though I hadn’t noticed it before.

Then I would begin to see myself in the car:

What color would I get? What year? Which trim?

At that point, I couldn’t stand my current car anymore because I was already mentally driving the new one. In the spirit realm, I was behind the wheel. NOW it was time to bring it into the natural realm.

Next, I’d start shopping for a lender. After finding one, I’d clean my old car for the trade-in and head to the dealership to “look” at the car. But once I test-drove it, I KNEW I was getting it. There wasn’t a big enough obstacle to keep me from that car. I didn’t even want to leave without it! It was too painful to forget the vision, to go backwards, or to give up.

When I sold used cars, I would always push for the test drive. I KNEW that if they drove the car, they would buy it. Even if they left, I expected them to call me back in a few days. My work was done! I had already put the picture in their mind by handing them the keys and putting them in the driver’s seat.

Ain’t none of us doing something we didn’t FIRST imagine. Nobody just rolls out of bed and goes to buy ANYTHING — they FIRST think about it.

Do you know this is exactly how God created us to live and obtain everything we need? Jesus said to receive the thing BEFORE you pray. Everything we need is already inside us before the foundations of the world. So how do we draw it out?

Think about a few examples:

Joseph and his dreams. David and the prophecy. Writing the vision. Abraham, who was given a word and then told to look at the grains of sand by day and the stars by night. The woman with the issue of blood, who said for a YEAR, “If I can but TOUCH the hem.” That was imagination and faith. The Tower of Babel — a story about people with so much imagination that God Himself had to separate them because NOTHING could stop them.

I simply can’t be convinced that our imagination isn’t from God. The Bible clearly shows us both the positive and negative uses of it. This is the essence of faith.

What is the thing you want?

Have you imagined it?

Have you taken ownership of it?

Where is your written vision?

You can’t just throw up a prayer and walk away. That’s simply not how man was designed.

Write the vision.

Put yourself in the vision.

Meditate on it day and night.

Rinse and repeat — until the fullness of the vision is in your life.

While I agree in theory, not everything is for us. Always trying to be positive sometimes no is an answer. God bless  James Harris Facebook

    1. Not for me, the answer is ALWAYS YES and amen. God would not give us a vision in our heart and then say no. That is unbiblical and not His nature.

Hummmm, maybe. I will say that if it’s God’s will, He will make it happen. But if it’s NOT, it won’t. Here’s an example. For almost 4 years, my husband and I wanted to move–down size to a single level home. We lived on a hill in a 2 story house with a basement. It was too much! We were empty nesters and just was tired of climbing stairs and hills. We went to every open house every weekend for YEARS!!! Every home we fell in love with–imagined living there and even planning where we would build a shop, she-shed, etc. fell through. Not because we weren’t offering enough–we offered MORE than the asking. But for whatever reason, it fell through….several times. And then we found our current home. It was perfect, absolutely perfection. We made an offer and found out that there were 2 other offers already submitted. So, what the heck! We prayed about it (like we did all the ones before) and thought like all the other times, this one too would fall through. Until we got the call!!!!! We immediately put our house on the market because our offer was made with a contingency that we sell our home. Our house sold in less than 24 hours–a For Sale sign wasn’t even put up before we got an offer. For way more than our asking price. I can not explain how EVERYTHING fell into place so fast it was unbelievable, really. Our Realtor couldn’t not explain it. We knew, though. We knew. God had planned this home for us and was working out the small details…way before. So, not everything WE think we need will be provided. Sometimes, HE’S got something better for in mind!!!

    1. I’m not sure what you’re saying.. you guys wanted a house and got it. That desire for a new home was put in your heart by God. Gods will is Gods word. You guys imagined a house you that would be perfect for you, that’s what you got. When it’s God there is peace, no toil and it moves fast. Your testimony proves that.

I’m not referring to lust based on beauty or desire, I’m referring to the kind of faith the woman with the issue of Blood had. She used her imagination for a year and then the appointed time came and Jesus came by. My example is I believe I’ll be married, I don’t know who the man will be but I know he will be perfect for me because God knows what I need for my future. Even though I prayed for other men to be my husband God knew they were not right for me. I was praying from a position of wanting my way and not His will.

Exactly. We thought we found our “dream home” several times. And it wasn’t His will. Although, we thought it would be. But when it was His will, every single thing fell into place. So, I guess, what I’m saying, is sometimes, we think it’s what He wants because we’ve prayed for it. But it isn’t at all what He has in mind for us. So, when the door closes or the house falls through, or a breakup in relationship happens, we should thank Him for that, too. 🙂 And girl, you will be married to the one that was created for you. And you and he will both know that it’s God lead. In the meantime, He’s still working on him and on you. 🙂
